It’s All On Our Doorstep
Within walking distance are the villages of Westham and Pevensey. Steeped in history, both have beautiful architecture, including the first Norman Church which was built in 1080, and the Roman fortress of Pevensey Castle, famously the landing place of William the Conqueror’s army in 1066. You will also find a post office, newsagent, hairdressers, beautician, florist, tea rooms and a fish & chip shop, along with a choice of pubs and restaurants.
Just a mile away in Langney, there is a shopping centre and weekly market. A larger retail complex, featuring a six-screen cinema and many big stores is located at Eastbourne’s Sovereign Marina, together with The Waterfront – a stretch of restaurants, cafes and boutiques on the water’s edge.
Eastbourne, with its Victorian promenades and beautiful beaches is 3 miles to the west of our farm. The town is well known for its spectacular Airshow every August and Eastbourne International Tennis, which form just part of a packed programme of events, adding to theatres, town centre shopping, a cultural quarter and a wealth of attractions.
For walkers and cyclists, the landscape beyond climbs dramatically to Beachy Head and the rolling South Downs.
Fairfields Farm is conveniently situated close to the South Downs Way, the Cuckoo Trail and 1066 walk.
